Soft Life Weekend Escapes From UK Airports (Without Using Annual Leave!)

You don’t need a two-week holiday to feel like yourself again. Sometimes all it takes is a Friday evening flight, a change of scenery, and 48 hours where no one needs anything from you.

This is for the women who feel like life has become routines, responsibilities, and “I’ll do it later. Later doesn’t come. So here’s your permission slip to go now!

I’ve pulled together the best weekend trips from UK airports in May 2026 — flights that work around a 9–5, maximise your time away, and give you that soft life feeling without using all your annual leave.

Think:

✨ Sunset dinners in Europe

✨ Spa mornings and slow coffees

✨ Solo trips that feel safe, easy, and actually enjoyable

Airports included:

  • London Heathrow
  • London Stansted
  • Manchester
  • Liverpool
  • Birmingham

This week, I’ll also be sharing trips for the May bank holidays and the school holidays.

If you click the destination name, it will take you directly to the flights over on SkyScanner. I have searched the flights for one adult but you are able to change this in the search bar above the results.

London Heathrow Airport

Here are some of the best weekend trip deals I have managed to source for weekends in May using little or no annual leave! Now I’ll be honest, Heathrow isn’t the cheapest airport to fly from for these because of their lack of budget carriers but I have included it as it was requested.
